TU Kuppelsaal (Milonga on Thursday) |
The TU-Kuppelsaal is our special location. Until about a year ago, the highest floor of the Technical University (TU) was filled with offices, until the decision was made to tear the dividing walls down, bringing the beautiful hall right underneath the dome to the surface in all of its splendour. The amazing 200-year-old wooden roof construction gives this location a warm and very unique atmosphere. The venue is still something an insiders’ tip in Vienna – that shows that impressive halls with history and architectural mastery in this city cannot only be found in imperial castles and palais.Getting there:
Underground Line U1, U2 or U4, Station Karlsplatz, then 1min. walking until the main entrance of the Vienna Technical University (TU)Address:

KURSALON HÜBNER (Milonga on Friday) |
The Kursalon is yet another architectonical treasure in the centre of the city, embedded in one of Vienna’s most beautiful parks, called the “Stadtpark”. Actually, there are few other buildings more predestinated in Vienna to host a dance event, especially considering that the famous composer Johann Strauss performed his first public concert within these same walls in 1868, infecting the Viennese people with what is still known as the “Waltzing fever”. Newly renovated, this historical building with its terrace and wooden dancefloor looking out into the park will be our venue for the Friday Milonga.Getting there:
Underground Line U4, Station Stadtpark, then 1 min. walking
or
Tram Line 2, Station Weihburggasse, then 1 min. walking
or
Tram Line 1 or D; Station Schwarzenbergplatz, then 5 min. walkingAddress:

SOFIENSÄLE (Milonga on Saturday) |
Originally completed in 1826, the main hall of the building was the location of magnificent balls during the winter, when the original steam bath area of the “Sophienbad” was covered with a wooden floor. Due to its great acoustics, many of the Strauss family waltzes were performed within these walls for the first time.In August of 2001, this beautiful hall suffered a tragic raging fire that endured for more than eight hours and finally caused the complete ceiling to cave in. Miraculously, some of the decorative stucco work on the walls and façade survived. After years of lying open and subjected to the forces of nature, an extensive restoration project costing around 50 million Euros awakened this sleeping beauty back to life for its reopening in November 2013. We are very proud to say that TANGOAMADEUS managed to get a very special authorization to host our Saturday night here, as the room will probably be destined for other types of usage in the future. You won’t want to miss this unique opportunity!Getting there:
